Dr. S. Glory Swarupa is a seasoned professional in the field of Entrepreneurship & Skill with over two and half decades' experience. She has worked with different institutions under various Union Ministries namely the Ministry of Commerce & Industry; Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change; Ministry of Education; Ministry of Fisheries; Ministry of Micro Small & Medium Enterprises, Govt. of India and Bhartiya Skill Development University.
Her core areas of expertise include Policy Advocacy, Research, Designing International & National Programs, Training, Teaching, Extension, Mentoring, Monitoring, Consultancy and Documentation. She has implemented several Government of India schemes, programs and projects in all States and Union Territories covering Entrepreneurship, Skill Development, MSME sector, Rural Development, Agriculture & Allied sectors. She has authored 9 books, published 51 scientific papers, 5 Films and handled several research projects. She has also presented papers in many International Conferences. Her contribution towards Capacity Building of Professionals and institutionalizing Entrepreneurship among Higher Education Intuitions is noteworthy. Dr. S. Glory Swarupa's leadership continues to be instrumental in sensitizing developing countries on good practices of Indian MSME sector through International training programs is highly appreciated among global platforms.
As Director General, she has been instrumental in promotion of several Agro-Rural clusters across the country covering handlooms, handicrafts, natural fibers, toys, honey, coconut, millets, jackfruit, banana to name a few. To align with National Priorities and UN Sustainable Development Goals, she is earnestly working on the concept - Doubling of Women Entrepreneurs and making efforts to establish Centers of Excellence in Clean Technologies and Future/Smart Technologies. Being first Woman Director General, she is effectively managing a self-financed National Institution which is an apt illustration in MSME sector.
Dr. S. Glory Swarupa has been serving several important committees and boards such as Steering Committee Member for DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India, Ministerial Task Force (MTF) Committee for Futuristic Initiatives on Innovation; MSME & Start-up Promotion Board of ICMAI; Sector Skill Councils; Board of Studies of Skill University and University of Knowledge & Technology; Executive Committee of Centre for Entrepreneurship Development; Start-up Policy Formulation Committee of NIT, Raipur. In recognition of her contributions and services in various sectors, she has been conferred with several Awards and Honors.
She received her Ph.D. from first Pure Skills University in India, in the area of Entrepreneurship & Skill Development. The doctoral research outlined policy framework for integrating skill education with entrepreneurship. She is the Alumni of National Institute of Technology (NIT), Warangal. She has multi-lingual expertise in English, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Tamil.
As a trainer, researcher and policy maker, Dr. S. Glory Swarupa has made immense contribution towards the development of a dynamic ecosystem for the growth, promotion and revival of MSMEs in the country. She was conferred with SMT. VEDMATI MEMORIAL EMINENCE AWARD IN EDUCATION, UNITED NATIONS SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS AWARD for outstanding contributions in Gender Equality. In recognition of her unparalleled contributions towards overall development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in India, the LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD is conferred on her. She was also Honored with EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION in the 7th Principals & Teachers Award, Received Award for BEST LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT TRAINING PROFESSIONAL at Agri Awards, DR.
